Linda S. Bowen, ARM is the founder of Inswork Solutions and serves as Managing Consultant. Since 2002, Inswork provides insurance claims handling, "good faith / bad faith," regulatory compliance, coverage consultation and expert witness services to insurers, law firms and a variety of corporations, non-profit organizations and individuals throughout the U.S. This includes manufacturers, healthcare providers, homeowner's associations, municipal entities, telecommunication companies and a variety of professionals including accountants, realtors, engineers and attorneys.
To date, Ms. Bowen has been retained and / or testified in 100 plus insurance disputes
throughout the country on behalf of approximately 30 insurers, as well as corporate and individual policyholders. Her extensive experience includes multi-policy, multi-party and multi-insurer coverage and claims handling disputes including manuscript coverage, other insurance / order of coverage, allocation, duty to defend and apportionment issues.
Ms. Bowen spent 25 years in the insurance industry and has served in a variety of technical and management positions at the branch, regional and national levels. This includes managing Chubb's Washington, D.C. multi-line regional claim office and supervising its 10 state Western Zone Specialty Claim, Automobile, Personal and General Liability claims units. In addition, Ms. Bowen had oversight for claims at CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company, the second largest insurer of Certified Public Accountants in the U.S. and served as Managing Director for Certus Claims Administration, a specialized national third party claims administrator ("TPA") handling automobile, property and general liability claims on behalf of other insurers.
Ms. Bowen's principal areas of specialization include the investigation, coverage assessment / analysis, valuation / reserving, auditing, reporting and negotiation of large, professional, business and personal liability litigation, including class actions and matters featured in the media.
Ms. Bowen's work included the handling and supervision of matters involving accountants, directors and officers, real estate agents and physicians / hospitals, as well as commercial and personal automobile (including UM / UIM), complex commercial general liability (BI, PD, Products, etc.), first party homeowner's employment practices and non-profit liability matters. At various times, Ms. Bowen has had responsibility for quality control auditing and staff training and oversight for regulatory compliance and fraud provisions.
When time permits, Linda enjoys providing professional advisory services and public speaking. She has served as a facilitator at several trade organization and corporate events.
Ms. Bowen obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida. She also attended the Executive Management Program at Columbia University, New York and studied at the John Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University. She handles insurance claim and coverage matters nationwide from base locations in California and Washington.
